I fell in love with English setters the first time I set eyes on them! While I was an undergraduate at the University of Georgia I had the privilege of meeting Alan, a male English setter, owned by a PhD student in a botany/genetics lab where I worked the spring of my last year. Alan was absolutely beautiful and I set about trying to obtain an English setter for myself. I ended up importing a bitch puppy from Daniela Sejvlova Czech Republic (Alan was also Czech) in August of 2003. Celine, Celine Shahrastani, whose name ultimately became Annabelle cemented my love of this wonderful breed. A short time later I found that one English Setter was not enough and I purchased Marlo, Legends That Girl, from Cathy Brewer of Legends English Setters, Washington State. I have spent the past several years showing my girls in conformation, obedience, and rally. I am hoping to start competing in field and agility later this year.
In addition to showing dogs I am also a very busy veterinary student at the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine(VMRCVM) in Blacksburg, Virginia. For the past 2 years I have received the Virginia Federation of Dog Clubs and Breeders Award for my involvement in the sport of purebred dogs and academic achievement. I will graduate in May of 2009 with a focus(track) in small animal medicine and hope to relocate to the Pittsburgh area after graduation. I am a member of the English Setter Association of America(ESAA), Central Carolina English Setter Club(CCESC) and New River Valley Kennel Club(NRVKC). I am also a certified CGC evaluator for the AKC.
